Vocalist and percussionist Pedrito Martinez has assembled a core of musicians that expertly interweaves progressive and soulful Latin Jazz melodies with tight rhythms. Energetic and passionate, the Pedrito Martinez Group plays smooth and danceable music with international flare and New York City attitude. Bandleader Pedrito Martinez’s musical expertise and unique artistic voice has taken him around the world, from his earliest performances at the age of eleven in his home of Havana, Cuba to recording and touring internationally with a long list of legendary musicians including Sting, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, and Ray Charles, and some of the most important names in Latin jazz, such as Eddie Palmieri, Brian Lynch, Paquito D'Rivera, and Bebo Valdés.
