By Bruce-Guadalupe Elementary and Middle School Students | June, 2015
The Big Idea III: Envisioning is an exhibition commemorating the ALMA (Avanzando Lectura y Matematicas a traves del Arte/Advancing Literacy and Math through Art) Program, which showcases the artistic knowledge and skill of Bruce-Guadalupe Elementary and Middle School students in 2nd through 8th grades. The range of students’ ALMA experiences during the 2014-2015 school year was on display including curriculum, information about visiting artists, images of lessons in progress, and student artworks. From 2010-2014, ALMA was largely made possible by an Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination grant from the U.S. Department of Education. In 2014, the College Board recognized ALMA for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts, in the category of Arts Integration.
