Mexican architect Luis Barragán (1902-1988) left a definitive stamp on modern design, advocating for “emotional architecture” to take precedent over design that purely serves function. In 1980, he won the Pritzker Prize, an award that honors architects that demonstrate “talent, vision and commitment, which has produced consistent and significant contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of architecture.” This collection examined Barragán’s colorful yet minimalist style through photographs, blueprints, and video.
